Produce a cryptographic hash of any text using SHA-1, SHA-256 or SHA-512. Handy for verifying a checksum, generating a fingerprint, or comparing two values without storing the originals.

Frequently asked questions
Can a hash be reversed?
No. Hashes are one-way. Identical input always produces identical output, but you cannot recover the input from the hash.
Which algorithm should I use?
SHA-256 for almost everything. SHA-1 is only useful for compatibility with older systems, as it is no longer considered collision-resistant.
